PreFlight Privacy Policy
PreFlight is a pilot logbook: it records your flights, licences and ratings, documents, duty time and aircraft, and can read techlog sheets and logbook pages for you. This policy explains what data the app handles, where it is stored, who else processes it, and what you can do about it. PreFlight is operated by Hafeel Satchu ("we"). 1. What we collect and why

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers or device identifiers for tracking. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the app.
2. Where your data is stored
- On your device. Your logbook is stored in an encrypted database on the device. The encryption key is kept in the device's secure key store (Android Keystore or the iOS Keychain) and is excluded from device backups. The roster and your app preferences stay on the device.
- In your account (cloud sync). When you are signed in and cloud upload is on, your flights, licences, duty logs, aircraft, airfields, prior experience, settings and vault documents are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) under your user ID, so that your other devices show the same logbook. Access is restricted by security rules to your own account.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with anyone else.
4. Crew share
When you create a crew-share code or QR code for a flight, the flight details you chose to share (route, times, aircraft, your name as crew, and the techlog proof photo if you included it) are stored under that code and can be read by any PreFlight user who enters it until the code expires or you delete the shared flight. Share codes only with crew you know.
5. Exports and sharing
PDF logbooks, ForeFlight CSV files, the full-data export and share images are created on your device and handed to the app you choose in the system share sheet. Where they go after that is between you and that app.
6. Notifications
Expiry and duty reminders are scheduled on your device from your own data. Nothing is sent to a push service.
7. How long we keep data
Your data stays in your account until you delete it or delete your account. Deleting a flight, document or aircraft removes it from your account and your synced devices. Scanned photos sent to Gemini are not retained by us after the scan; the techlog proof you keep is stored with the flight. Crew-share records expire automatically after their validity period.
8. Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under More, Profile, Delete account. This permanently erases your logbook, documents, settings and shared flights from your account and from the device, and signs you out. If you cannot access the app, email pocketbuddyapps@gmail.com from your account address and we will delete it for you.
9. Your rights
You can view and edit everything the app holds about you inside the app, and export a complete copy with "Export all my data". Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to processing. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
10. Security
Data on the device is encrypted at rest. Data in transit uses TLS. Cloud data is protected by per-user security rules. No system is perfectly secure; keep your Google or Apple account protected with two-factor authentication.
11. Children
PreFlight is for licensed pilots and student pilots and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.
12. Changes
We will post updates to this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
